The Relationship of Foreign Direct Investment and Unemployment Rate in the Philippines

Unemployment is widely recognized as a crucial indicator of the country’s labor market performance and known to be one most important problems in developing countries. On other hand, foreign direct investment significantly impact economy it directly creates additional jobs local indirectly increases spending because new employees purchase products services. This study was conducted determine relationship between (inflows outflows) unemployment rate Philippines present its trend from period 1980 2019. Data on 1980-2019 were sourced International Labour Organization published by World Bank. The Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression analysis used analyze Philippines. Results revealed that outflows variable affects rate, with p-values lower than 5% significance level. Thus, this paper offers decision-makers policy-makers ample information make informed decisions about
